I’m still giddy from seeing Juan Maclean last Friday at NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge.  A DFA showcase as usual, the night opened with an artsy performance from Black Meteoric Star and DJ sets by Holy Ghost! and Matt Cash. Highlights included: John Maclean on the theramin (and actually playing it really well …unlike here), an impromptu guest vocal from Holy Ghost!’s Nick Milhiser on Every Little Thing, and a 15-minute plus version of Happy House, including a sonic spaced-out instrumental extension and constellations of lights.
