D-E-V-O!

Fucci reporting here from SXSW. It’s the expected madhouse, though the great American recession seems to have left its mark (less folks than last year, tons of Euros and Antipodeans).

The weekend has a lot to offer …besides Kanye’s not so surprise appearance at the Fader fort, they’ll also be jams from Erykah Badu at Redbull Moon Tower and Casiokids day time at the Convention Center.  I myself will be DJing with my friend $mall change earlier in the evening at the East Village Radio booth, part of the curiously-titled Fader experience, then in to more homegrown territory at the GaybiGayGay festival Sunday.

Friday night I went to see DEVO at Austin Music Hall. Zany as expected, they lived up to their reputation for quirkiness, even after the devolution of time. This was also the first time I haven’t had to wait on a huge line to go to the ladies bathroom. (FYI, SXSW is a huge sausagefest).
