Isn’t this thing simply… magical? I was trying to think of a less twee word but it just looks like some talsiman, a super powerful object. It’s a flyer from the formative years of hip-hop, for a 1980 party in the Bronx where Afrika Bambaata and some others performed. I grabbed it from this awesome website here.

Apparently most of these flyers were designed by some dudes named Buddy Esquire and Phase 2. Buddy Esquire was a “regular” visual artist, while Phase 2 was a well-known graffiti artist who bombed a lot of trains back in the day in addition to doing the flyers. These are all so awesome! Wow.
