Sports Metaphors
Portland, OR-based indie dance band Hockey released their debut album Mind Chaos this week. And, despite Oregon not having a national hockey team, there are quite a few similarities between the album and the sport.
These songs are:
* Fast.
* Hard hitting.
* Slinky. Everyone knows hockey players are extremely slinky.
* Hooks everywhere — and no one is calling a penalty on it! (Get it?)
* Booty moving, booty popping, and all around booty movement inducing.
I clearly don’t know much about the sport, otherwise that list might become my own Ulysses. The main difference seems to be that the band Hockey uses guitars and their words to settle disputes, while the hockey players use sticks and easily resort to fisticuffs.
We’ve even got more great news! Turns out, Hockey loves Loudcrowd and will be doing a Q+A with us later this week. So come by and check that out. And if you’re in England right now, check them out before they begin a mini US tour on October 8th.
