New Loudness Tuesday
It’s New Loudness Tuesday, which everyone loves so very much that it would be a national holiday except that since it happens every week that would greatly disrupt the flow of commerce. The following three songs drop in the game today:
Scanners’ track “Bombs (Trizzy’s Boom Bam Slam Mix)” is super ace, isn’t it? The NME gushed, as the NME is wont to do, the following: “They’re like all the songs Kim Gordon sings in Sonic Youth, but played by Motorhead at their early-’80s peak.”
Shinichi Osawa’s “Detonator” is a thrilling thing. Osawa, born in 1967, has worked in a variety of dance genres: acid house, techno, house, and electro among them. On his own website it says that “Osawa describes himself as ‘Musical Multi Personality,’” which is awesome. And true.
And finally we have “Same Thing” by The Glass, a duo based in both New York and Berlin whose smart house/ electro-pop hybrid shows the influence of both of those fabulous cities. Have you seen their video for “Wanna Be Dancin”? It’s probably our second favorite Lego stop motion video, ever.
